The 100 mile meal.

Today was finally THE night. The meal that was 100% made from within 100 miles. Actually, the chicken was raised 96 miles away by a good friend, and the rest I grew 1 mile away from my house.

The meal:

Edamame/Soyabeans



French Fingerling Potatoes


Beans and Carrots


Slow Roasted Chicken

We also had local wine and beer as well as a pie from a local farm using their berries. As I sit here in the afterglow of the meal, there is a deep sense of satisfaction. Could I feed my family all winter on what I grew? No. Could I incorporate something I grew in each meal? Yes. And that is pretty great to me.
