Ha ha. I just totally got flack on my facebook for posting this. A mother whose child has an actual disorder that requires medication (and who has had trouble finding advocates who recognize his disorder) was rather offended. I really haven't decided how (or if) I will respond.
I saw that comment Julie and was glad it was your post and not mine! When I posted, I just assumed everyone would understand the "tongue-in-cheek"ness that is The Onion, but I guess you never really know what hits close to home (and becomes therefore much less funny) to people.
This article was actually the first reading we had to do for my Child Psychopathology class this semester. It was a good indication that I would like my prof ... and for me a reminder of the need for kids to be kids and to recognize that kids being kids is normal and should be encouraged.

Welcome to my world of continually upsetting people with my internet musings...
I posted it as a reminder to myself that I need to encourage this disorder...or that the real disorder the way we want our kids to be mini adults....

I also meant to say, I think I may still have it. Which is what gets me in trouble around the office sometimes, but makes me an excellent Auntie.
